Psychotherapy/counseling

  • Initial consultation for all clients　　60,000yen (tax included)

A one-time 90 minute session evaluating issues and situations in order to formulate plans and goals regarding treatment.

For psychotherapy/counseling involving minors (child psychotherapy, adolescent psychotherapy, family therapy), a one-time 90 minute consultation session with the caregiver(s) only, in order to gather background information to formulate plans and goals regarding treatment, and contract an agreement in working collaboratively.

For couples psychotherapy, a one-time 90 minute consultation session with both parties of the couplehood together.

 

Educational classes

Parenting education; Raising multilingual children; Child and adolescent development; Therapeutic play (support for trauma survivors by non-mental health professionals); Stress management; Eating disorders; Self-mutilation; etc.

*All forms of treatment will be conducted with a combination of talk therapy and play therapy regardless of the age of the client and modality of treatment, utilizing the whole brain for most effective results.

Supervision (for professionals and interns in mental health)**

Evaluation/Testing

Services of formal evaluation/testing is currently not available.

Reports

Services of opinion reports for custody issues and other court procedures are no longer available.
(Services of testifying in court will not be conducted under any circumstances.)

Child Psychotherapy/counseling

Treatment where the main concern lies with the child in the family.

Issues such as: friendship, socialization, school/academics, attention/focus, hyperactivity, trauma (natural disasters, human-made victimizations, accidents), family, developmental differences (e.g., learning disorders, autism spectrum), sensory differences, emotional responses to illness, loss (e.g., moving to a new country), anxiety, depression, transitions (eg. moving to new country), abuse (emotional, sexual, physical), neglect, hospitalization/operation, witness to a trauma, bullying (victim, perpetrator), divorce of parent, parental alienation, aggression, etc. (pls inquire for specific issues as necessary).

Caregiver participation will be an integral part of the treatment process. The initial consultation will be with the parents only, and parent(s) will be required to attend all subsequent sessions with the child.

Adolescent Psychotherapy/counseling

Treatment where the main concern lies with the adolescent in the family.

Issues such as: friendship, socialization, school/academics, attention/focus, hyperactivity, trauma (natural disasters, human-made victimizations, accidents), family, developmental differences differences (e.g., moving to a new country), sensory differences, emotional responses to illness, loss (eg. due to death of someone), anxiety, depression, transitions (eg. moving to new country), abuse (emotional, sexual, physical), neglect, hospitalization/operation, witness to a trauma, bullying (victim, perpetrator), divorce of parent, parental alienation, suicidal ideation, aggression, sexual orientation, gender dysphoria, etc. (pls inquire for specific issues as necessary).

Caregiver participation will be an integral part of the treatment process. The initial consultation will be with the parents only, and parent(s) will be asked to attend all subsequent sessions with the adolescent.

Individual Adult Psychotherapy/counseling

Treatment for adults who would like to work on their concerns individually.

Issues may be individual, couples, and/or family based problems.

Issues such as: family problems, self-image, self-confidence, anxiety, depression, socialization, work related problems, illness, hospitalization/operation, loss and/or mourning, friendship, attention/focus, hyperactivity, trauma (natural disasters, human-made victimizations, accidents), autism, sensory differences, transition (e.g., moving to a new country), abuse (emotional, sexual, physical), neglect, witness to a trauma, bullying (current and/or past; victim and/or perpetrator; as child and/or as adult), divorce (of self, of parent), parental alienation, suicidal ideation, aggression, anger, etc. (pls inquire for specific issues as necessary).

Family Psychotherapy

Treatment for those who would like the whole family to work on their issues together to improve relationships between family members, or to overcome a traumatic event (pls inquire for specific issues as necessary). The initial consultation will be for the parents only, followed by a whole family session. Separate individual sessions with each child will be conducted after the initial whole family session, before starting treatment as a family. Individual sessions for each parent can be scheduled before individual sessions with the child(ren) if necessary or requested.

Couples Psychotherapy/counseling

Treatment for couples who would like to work together on improving their relationship (pls inquire for specific issues as necessary). Couples can be: married, not married, separated, straight, gay, long-term relationship, short term relationship, have children (children will not be included in sessions), not have children, single culture, mixed culture, single language (either English or Japanese only), mixed languages (sessions will be conducted in English and/or Japanese only regardless of how many or which languages clients are fluent in), etc.

The initial consultation will be for both parties in the couplehood, followed by separate individual sessions for each partner, before starting treatment as a couple.

Office hours

Sessions are conducted online and in person. In-person session availability is currently limited. Inquiries can be made via the contact form on this website or via email. Phone inquiries can be arranged via email.

Mon.- Fri. (excluding Japanese national holidays), 1-7pm.

All sessions begin on the hour.

Session are NOT conducted on weekends, Japanese national holidays, mornings, or outside office hours.
